There is a park on the corner of W 4th St and 6th Ave named Golden Swan Garden. Even though we saw no such creatures gracing this block, it still had plenty of charm.
We begin in the East Village, a favorite of ours for its restaurant-filled streets and high-energy nightlife. We stepped into The Organic Grill for a vegetarian lunch which, despite our carnivorous cravings, was delicious. We recommend the portobello burger with home fries. Next time we go we will be sure to try their alcoholic frozen push pops.
Hello. Howdy. How're you doing?
Welcome to the Block by Block project. We are Corrin and Brad, two 20-somethings living in New York City. The idea for this project started with a map and a lot of free time (which we had been spending eating ice cream while watching 30 Rock). The guilt started to sink in as we thought more and more about how we are living in what is arguably one of the most inspirational cities in the world. Everyday while commuting to work, going to an audition, or going out, we pass through the streets of Manhattan too quickly to notice the individuality of each block. So we were struck with an idea: Why not explore the city, one block at a time? And so it begins. Follow us on our journey as we go block by block through one of the greatest cities in the world. Cheers! Corrin & Brad |
